Egyptian judicial sources denied the circulating news that the Egyptian authorities had released the former security man, Mohsen Al-Sukari, who was convicted of the 2008 murder of Lebanese singer Suzan Tamim.
Arab media and social media pages had extensively reported the news of Al-Sukari being released with a presidential pardon issued by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, similar to the other convict of inciting murder. However, Egyptian judicial sources denied, in whole and in detail, the news of Al-Sukari’s release.
The two were convicted by the Cairo Criminal Court of the crime of murdering the Lebanese singer (30 years old) in her apartment in Dubai. Mohsen Al-Sukari carried out the execution with a knife, and at the instigation of businessman Hisham Mustafa, for a sum of two million US dollars. The first was sentenced to 25 years in prison, and the second to 15 A year before he was released with a pardon from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
