🔴 Urgent | Escalation Resumes in Southern Lebanon Amid Israeli Calls to End Resolution 1701

Following the Israeli announcement of intercepting two rockets launched from Lebanon, the Israeli army intensified its artillery shelling on several areas in southern Lebanon, targeting Qaaqiya al-Jisr, Khyam, Jabbana, and Kfarkela, as well as the towns of Taybah and Markaba, with intensive drone flights at low altitude.

There were reports of the use of phosphorus shells in some areas, while sirens were heard in international forces’ centers in southern Lebanon. Simultaneously, the Lebanese government announced the closure of schools in the city of Nabatiyeh and its suburbs, as well as in Srifa and its surroundings, due to the ongoing situation.

In his first official comment, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant issued a threat to the Lebanese government, stating, “There will be no calm in Beirut without calm in the Galilee,” holding Lebanon responsible for any fire aimed at northern Israel and confirming that the Israeli army would act forcefully to ensure the security of the Galilee.

In the same context, Israeli media reported that the head of the local council in the Metula area called for targeting Lebanon and its military in case of non-cooperation from the Lebanese government, urging Tel Aviv to announce today the cancellation of Resolution 1701.
