🔴 Urgent | Lebanese Defense Ministry: No Return to Pre-Agreement Conditions, We Will Confront Division Efforts, and the State Is Committed to Protecting Its Borders

Lebanese Defense Minister General Michel Mansi reaffirmed Lebanon’s rejection of returning to the situation that existed prior to the ceasefire agreement in November 2024. He emphasized the state’s commitment to confronting any attempts aimed at undermining efforts to establish security and stability throughout Lebanese territory, particularly along the southern and eastern borders.

In an official statement, Mansi noted that the Lebanese Army has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the firing of rockets from Lebanese territory toward Israeli-held areas, stressing that the army is carrying out its duties with seriousness and responsibility across all regions.

The Defense Minister called on the countries sponsoring the ceasefire agreement to intervene and halt what he described as ongoing Israeli violations, which, according to him, are carried out under false pretexts and baseless justifications. He also urged the activation of the monitoring committee established under the ceasefire agreement, in coordination with the Lebanese Army.

Mansi urged the Lebanese people to remain vigilant and aware of attempts to sow discord between the army and residents of towns and villages, and to undermine trust between the state and its citizens through fearmongering and misinformation campaigns allegedly carried out by Israel.

He further affirmed that the Lebanese state continues its political, diplomatic, and military efforts to safeguard Lebanon’s sovereignty, ensure the security of its people, protect the integrity of its territory, and defend its borders to the north, east, and south.
