🔴 Urgent | Post-Shock Phase: Eli Sharvit Takes Over Shin Bet Leadership by Netanyahu’s Decision
The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the decision to appoint Major General (Res.) Eli Sharvit as the new head of Shin Bet, after conducting in-depth interviews with seven qualified candidates.
The office reminded that Major General Sharvit served in the Israeli military for 36 years, including five years as the commander of the Israeli Navy, during which he led the naval force-building process and supervised complex military operations against Hamas, Iran, and Hezbollah.
According to the Prime Minister’s office, Shin Bet, with its long history, underwent a major shock on October 7. Netanyahu is convinced that Major General Sharvit is the right person to lead the agency in the current phase. The office added that Sharvit will strive to continue the agency’s long-standing traditions.
