German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock emphasized the necessity of involving all ethnic groups in the upcoming reconstruction process, stressing that European financial support for any new Islamic structures, as she described them, is out of the question.
Regarding the Kurdish issue, the German minister called for reliable security guarantees for the Kurds and clarified that lifting sanctions on the country will remain contingent on the progress of the political process in the future.
It is noteworthy that the European Union had earlier urged the new Syrian authorities to ensure the inclusion of all Syrians in a comprehensive political process that guarantees a peaceful transition of power.
