Washington flirts with Caracas

The US Treasury announced the lifting of some individual sanctions imposed on Venezuela in an attempt to push Caracas to pump more oil into the market.
On Friday, the US Treasury said Washington eased restrictions on Venezuela by lifting individual sanctions imposed on Carlos Eric Malpica Flores, the former vice president of the Venezuelan oil and gas company and nephew of President Maduro’s wife.
The US Treasury aims from this measure to push Caracas to increase oil supplies to alleviate the fuel crisis that hits the United States.
