Tragedy as a result of the fall of a bus in a water canal in the Egyptian governorate of Dakahlia

The Egyptian Ministry of Health stated that 19 people died and six others were injured, after a bus fell into a water canal in the Dakahlia Governorate in the north of the country while it was traveling on the “Mit Ghamr-Mansoura” road.

According to what local media reported, about 35 people were on the bus, and that the accident occurred “as a result of speeding, and while the driver was trying to overtake a car in front of him, the steering wheel misfired and the bus fell into the canal.”

Rescue efforts are still continuing, as the river rescue forces and members of the “human frogs” (naval forces) make sure that there are no other victims at the bottom of the canal.
