A massive security operation in Türkiye leads to the arrest of dozens

The Turkish Minister of the Interior announced that his forces carried out a large security operation that included 9 Turkish states, most of which was the state of Bitlis in southeastern Turkey, targeting cells affiliated with the Kurdish PKK organization, which is banned in the country and is classified as a terrorist organization in Turkey.

According to Minister Ali Yerlikaya’s statement, the simultaneous operation succeeded in arresting 88 people on charges of aiding the PKK, colluding with it, and providing funding for it. Five Kalashnikov rifles, 7 pistols, 18 unlicensed hunting rifles, and publications related to the organization were seized.

Yesterday, Friday, the Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the destruction of 16 sites of the same organization by air strikes that affected several areas in northern Iraq.
