Today, Sunday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that dozens of international delegations will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi.
Khatibzadeh revealed in a press conference that “dozens of international delegations will participate in the swearing-in ceremony for the new Iranian president, including Iraqi President Barham Salih.”
Regarding the participation of a Saudi delegation in the ceremony, Khatibzadeh said: “I have not heard any details about the participation of a delegation from Saudi Arabia, and I cannot support that until now.”
The swearing-in ceremony for the elected president, Ibrahim Raisi, is also scheduled to take place next Thursday, August 5, in the presence of 70 foreign dignitaries.
A member of the Presidency of the Iranian Parliament, Ali Reza Salimi, said that “70 foreign personalities have announced their readiness to participate in the swearing-in ceremony so far, and that the number is increasing rapidly,” noting that “the attendance of this number at the swearing-in ceremony is unparalleled.”
He added, “The remarkable point is that there are countries with which our relations were lukewarm during the last period, which announced their readiness to participate in these ceremonies.”
