Today, Wednesday, the Yemeni Vice President, Lieutenant-General Ali Mohsen Saleh, handed a written message from President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Lieutenant-General Ali Mohsen also said, during his meeting in Doha, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and according to what was reported by the state-run Yemeni news agency “Saba”, that “Yemen is experiencing bitter negative changes at various levels as a result of the Houthi coup, the “Ansar Allah” group, backed by Iran.”
He praised “the support of brothers and friends for the legitimacy and will of the Yemenis, and for restoring state institutions and establishing peace, which would enhance security in our country.”
The Yemeni Vice President congratulated the Emir of Qatar on “the success of hosting the 2021 Arab Cup and the high level of ranking that qualifies Qatar to succeed in hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup.”
For his part, the Emir of Qatar renewed his country’s “full support for the legitimacy, security, stability, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Yemen.”
The Yemeni Vice President had arrived in Doha last Monday, on an official visit, the first since the resumption of relations between the two countries last March, after a rupture of nearly 4 years against the background of the “Gulf crisis”, when the Yemeni government decided to cut diplomatic relations with Doha. In conjunction with a similar measure taken by Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain on June 5, 2017.
Yesterday, the team, Ali Mohsen, attended the opening of the Arab Cup 2021, in its tenth edition, hosted by Qatar, and will continue until the eighteenth of December.
