Abdel Fattah al-Burhan asks Washington to pressure Abu Dhabi: “Tell the UAE no to war”

Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan revealed that he held a meeting with a UAE Minister of State in the presence of U.S. officials, during which he presented 21 files containing information about the UAE’s role in the Sudanese conflict.

He added that the Emirati minister did not respond to the information, stressing the need for Washington to tell Abu Dhabi “no to war,” according to Sudanese journalist Hassan Ismail, as reported by RT.

Al-Burhan also emphasized that the current international mediation efforts will not succeed unless they adopt the roadmap presented by Sudan. He noted that the fall of the city of Al-Fashir would not weaken government forces, affirming that the army will continue military operations to regain control of the city.

According to the same source, al-Burhan highlighted Sudan’s commitment to maintaining strong relations with the World Food Programme, a strategic partner of the country. The statement coincides with United Nations calls for international action to reduce humanitarian violations amid ongoing displacement from Al-Fashir, where about 800 families have left the city so far, according to the Humanitarian Aid Commission.
