After a break of seven years, “exploratory” talks between Turkey and Egypt

The second round of exploratory talks between Egypt and Turkey kicked off today in the capital, Ankara, and is expected to last for two days.

According to what the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement, Ambassador Sedat Unal, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey, and his Egyptian counterpart, Hamdi Loza, are heading the delegations of the two countries in the second round of talks.

She explained that the two delegations will discuss bilateral issues during the first day of the round of talks, and will exchange views on regional issues in Wednesday’s meetings. She added that the two sides aim to advance and normalize relations on the basis of mutual interests.
