After averting the Zaporizhia nuclear disaster, the IAEA announces its plan in Ukraine

The Wall Street Journal quoted Ukrainian and Western officials as saying that the International Atomic Energy Agency plans to deploy its monitors at all nuclear plants in Ukraine.

 According to the sources, “the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, intends, during his visit to Ukraine next week, to deploy two or three observers in all the Ukrainian atomic stations, which are “Southern Ukraine”, “Rovno” and “Khmelnitsky”, pointing out that “it is planned Also sending experts to the Chernobyl nuclear plant, which was shut down in the aftermath of the disaster in 1986.

 It should be noted that the IAEA observers have been working since last September at the Zaporizhia nuclear plant, which was taken over by Russian forces in March 2022, and became the property of the Russian state by decree of President Vladimir Putin last October.
