Al-Ahli Jeddah has been crowned champion of the AFC Champions League for the first time in its history.

Al-Ahli Saudi Club was crowned champion of the Asian Elite Champions League in football after a well-deserved victory over Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale with a score of 2-0 in the final match, held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

“The Royal” achieved its historic continental triumph thanks to the brilliance of its Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino, the former Liverpool player, who assisted both goals scored by Wenderson Galeno and Franck Kessié in the 35th and 42nd minutes of the first half.

With this achievement, Al-Ahli joins the ranks of Saudi clubs that have previously won the title, following Al-Hilal with four championships and Al-Ittihad Jeddah with two titles.
