Alan Shearer Misjudges Mohamed Salah’s Abilities

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has admitted that he was wrong about Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah after initially doubting his athletic abilities. Shearer revealed that he had concerns about Salah’s performance declining as his contract neared its end, believing that the uncertainty surrounding his future might affect his form. However, as the Egyptian star continued to deliver outstanding performances throughout the current season, Shearer reconsidered his stance.

Earlier in the season, Shearer had stated in media comments that Salah’s level might drop slightly due to his contract situation and concerns about his long-term security. However, he now acknowledges that there has been no decline in Salah’s performance whatsoever, crediting the forward’s immense mental strength.

Meanwhile, Salah, who joined Liverpool from Roma in the summer of 2017, is enjoying a fantastic run of form, having scored 27 goals and provided 19 assists in 35 matches across all competitions so far.

Despite his impressive performances, Salah’s future remains uncertain, as he has entered the final months of his contract. Since January, he has been free to negotiate with other clubs and could leave Liverpool on a free transfer at the end of the season.
