An internal crisis between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan region

The Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq announced its rejection of the decisions of some members of the Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, regarding the draft general budget law.

 And the Iraqi Kurdistan government announced that it would not abide by the content of the decision and any other decision outside the agreement that was previously concluded with the government of “Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani.”

 And the official statement stated, “The changes introduced by some members of the Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament in the draft general budget law dated May 25, 2023, against the Kurdistan Region, are unconstitutional and clearly inconsistent with the agreement signed between the regional government and the federal government, as well as a violation of the principles of the government agreement.” state administration and contradicts the essence of the ministerial platform voted on by the House of Representatives.
