An Israeli thanked Erdogan for releasing an Israeli couple who took pictures of his home

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had a phone call with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following Ankara’s release of an Israeli couple detained in Turkey on spying charges.
“Bennett thanked Erdogan for his assistance in releasing the couple, who are accused of spying after they photographed Erdogan’s residence in Istanbul,” Bennett’s office said in a statement.
The newspaper “Israel Hayom” quoted a senior diplomatic official as saying, “Erdogan’s intervention put an end to the incident,” while another diplomatic official indicated to the newspaper, that “as soon as Erdogan’s office learned of the incident, the process that allowed for their release began, and that Erdogan is personally responsible for concluding the incident.” This incident,” noting that “as soon as the Turkish president’s office was briefed on this issue, he gave his representatives all clarity to end matters.”
