US President Joe Biden thanked the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, for his moves in support of the armistice in Yemen, and for opening airspace to flights to and from Israel.
And the Oman News Agency reported yesterday evening that “Sultan Haitham bin Tariq received a phone call from US President Joe Biden, during which they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them in all fields.”
Where, according to the White House statement, Biden thanked the Sultan of Oman for his “efforts to support the armistice in Yemen under the auspices of the United Nations during the past year, which witnessed the longest period of calm since the war began more than a decade ago, as well as the decision of the Sultanate of Oman to open the airspace for flights to and from Israel.”
The statement also added that the two leaders affirmed their commitment to strengthening
The strategic partnership between the two countries, trade and investment opportunities, and cooperation in clean, diversified and safe energy sources.
The statement indicated that the US President “welcomed the Omani authority’s historic role in securing the release of US citizens who were detained in Iran.”
