Border clashes between Syria and Lebanon have reignited amidst military reinforcements from both sides.

The clashes on the Syrian-Lebanese border have reignited, following the killing of three Syrian army personnel on Sunday.
In recent hours, military reinforcements have been observed on both sides of the border in the areas of Hermel and Hosh al-Sayyed Ali, mobilized by both the Lebanese and Syrian armies.
The Lebanese Council of Ministers discussed the escalating field developments in the Bekaa region, adjacent to the Syrian border, noting ongoing communication with the Syrian side to contain the situation. These discussions took place as clashes resumed this evening north of Hermel, following the shelling of the village of “Hosh al-Sayyed Ali” from Syrian territory.
In turn, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun issued a warning against the continuation of escalation on the eastern and northeastern borders with Syria. In a presidential statement, he declared, “What is happening cannot continue, and we will not accept its continuation,” emphasizing that he has instructed the Lebanese army to “immediately respond to the sources of fire” targeting Lebanese villages.
In a parallel diplomatic move, President Aoun tasked the Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs with contacting the Syrian delegation participating in the Brussels conference to urge the Syrian government to de-escalate and control the border.
