Breaking: Serious Security Incident Near the People’s Palace in Damascus

Heavy gunfire was heard moments ago near the People’s Palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The Observatory added that security checkpoints in the area turned back individuals heading toward the palace at Mount Qasioun. So far, there has been no official statement regarding the nature or source of the gunfire.
