Cairo and Riyadh meet for Damascus

In joint coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Tuesday, in a joint statement, they called for stopping regional interference in the Syrian issue, stressing the importance of reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, who is on a tour of a number of Middle Eastern countries, held talks in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Tuesday.

According to the joint statement, “the two sides stressed the importance of reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people and preserve Syria’s unity and territorial integrity.”

The statement stressed “the necessity of stopping regional interference in Syrian affairs, which threatens the security, stability, unity and social cohesion of Syria.”
