Chinese President Xi Jinping called on Tuesday for a virtual meeting with US President Joe Biden to constructively resolve differences between China and the United States.
The two presidents were quoted by the state-run CCTV channel, urging Chinese President Xi Jinping to constructively resolve differences between China and the United States as well as sensitive issues.
Meanwhile, the Chinese president stressed that relations between the two countries should not get out of hand.
President Ping stressed mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation as the three principles in developing China-US relations in the new era.
In turn, the US President expressed his desire to reiterate that the United States does not seek to change the Chinese regime, does not seek to strengthen alliances against China, and does not intend to enter into conflict with China.
Biden stressed that the US government adheres to the “one China” policy, does not support “Taiwan independence” and hopes that “peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait will remain.”
