Cholera strikes Syria.. What’s the story?

The Syrian Ministry of Health has announced that 15 people in Aleppo have contracted cholera, while the north-east self-administration has confirmed that 3 people have died so far from the disease, with widespread spread in the region.
The Health Authority of the North-Eastern Syrian Self-Administration said it had “detected cholera infections in Raqqa and the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor with three deaths”
The disease is invading the region as drought persists and clean water is difficult to reach inhabited areas due to impediments to Turkey’s occupation.
