Civil Defense: Over 30 Hectares Burned in Rural Latakia in Four Days – Video and Photos

The Syrian Civil Defense announced that more than 30 hectares of forested land have burned in rural Latakia over the past four days, noting that no damage to homes or property has been reported.

In this context, Abdel-Kafi Kiyal, Director of the Civil Defense Directorate in the coastal region, stated that strong winds and the distance from water sources have contributed to the spread of fires north of the towns of Rabia and Rayhaniyah. He confirmed that firefighting teams continue efforts to contain the flames.

Kiyal added that the first fire, which broke out on Wednesday, has been brought under control, while fires remain active in several areas of the forests in Jabal al-Turkman. Preliminary estimates suggest that around 40 hectares of green space have been burned.
