Colombia faces Argentina in the Copa America final after defeating Uruguay

The Colombian national team reached the final of the Copa America, following a thrilling 1-0 victory over Uruguay, in the semi-finals of the competition at dawn on Thursday, despite playing the second half with only ten players.
Colombia owes this victory to Jefferson Lerma, who scored the only goal of the match with a beautiful header in the 39th minute.
The goal was created by veteran star James Rodriguez, who became the first player to score 6 goals in one edition in the history of Copa America, breaking the record of Argentine Lionel Messi, who scored 5 goals for his country in the last edition in 2021.
Colombia’s Daniel Munoz was at the end of the first half, while Uruguay was dominating the ball, but they failed to take advantage of their numerical superiority, and Darwin Nunez wasted three good opportunities to score early.
Colombia played with ten men after that, when right-back Munoz received a second yellow card after elbowing Manuel Ugarte in the chest when play was stopped.
Colombia, which extended its unbeaten streak to 28 matches, maintained its valuable win and will play Argentina in the final next Sunday, while Uruguay will meet Canada the day after tomorrow, Saturday, to determine the third-place finisher.
