Days After Taking Office: Deportation of Migrants Begins in the U.S.

Caroline Lift, spokesperson for U.S. President Donald Trump, announced on Friday that authorities have detained 538 undocumented migrants and deported hundreds more in a mass operation using military aircraft.

Lift stated that this marks the beginning of the largest deportation operation in history, fulfilling promises made by President Trump during his election campaign. Trump had previously declared in his speeches that he intended to deport undocumented migrants, even if it required the use of the military and U.S. military bases to accomplish the task.
