Determine the date of the crescent of Dhu al-Hijjah and the first day of Eid al-Adha

The Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia called on Wednesday to wait for the sighting of the crescent of the month of Dhul-Hijjah on Thursday evening, corresponding to June 6, to determine the first day of the Hijri month of Dhul-Hijjah, the month that witnesses the performance of the Hajj pilgrimage for Muslims.

The statement published by the official Saudi News Agency included a call to Muslims in the Kingdom for anyone who sees the crescent moon, whether with the naked eye or with binoculars, to report to the nearest court and register his testimony there.

Accordingly, the day of Eid al-Adha will be either Sunday, June 16, or Monday, June 17, depending on what is determined by the start date of the month in the Hijri calendar, which will become clear tomorrow.
