Disclosure of the date of the possible meeting between Assad and Erdogan

The Russian news agency “Sputnik” quoted a member of the decision and central implementation body of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Turkey, Orhanoglu, as saying that “Damascus rejected Ankara’s request regarding arranging a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Syrian Bashar al-Assad.” Pointing out that “Syria intends to postpone such a meeting until after the Turkish presidential elections scheduled for June 2023.”
The Turkish official described his country’s situation in Syria as “sensitive” because it was in confrontation with Russia, the United States of America, Iran and Damascus because of the “PKK” and its branches inside Syria, which, according to the Turkish official, could greatly affect the expected presidential and parliamentary elections. Mid next year 2023.
