Recent studies published in the specialized scientific journal Current Developments in Nutrition revealed the magical benefit of pomegranate juice for patients with type B diabetes, after discovering a great ability to reduce blood sugar level within 15 to 30 minutes and very effectively when eating only one cup.
Participants in the experiment conducted by the researchers were given a dose of water or pomegranate juice, or water with glucose and fructose, and sugar was measured before and after the experiment.
The researchers found that drinking water did not change the level of sugar in the blood, however, in people with low insulin levels, a “significant” decrease in glucose level was observed at 15 minutes and 30 minutes, after consuming pomegranate juice compared to the amount of sugar in the water. A significant rise in insulin levels was observed at 15 and 30 minutes after drinking pomegranate juice compared to sugar water.
Type 2 diabetes arises from poor insulin production in the pancreas, knowing that insulin is a hormone that regulates blood sugar in the body, and its poor production causes many health problems.
