Donald Trump to Pay Millions for This Reason

A U.S. federal appeals court on Monday upheld the May 2023 ruling against former President Donald Trump, ordering him to pay $5 million to former writer and journalist E. Jean Carroll for sexual assault and defamation.
Carroll, 79, had filed a lawsuit against Trump, accusing him of raping her in a dressing room at a luxury department store in 1996. The case was brought in New York, where the law allows victims of sexual assault to pursue legal action against alleged perpetrators even decades after the incident.
A nine-member jury previously found Trump liable for sexual abuse but not rape and awarded Carroll monetary compensation. However, Trump’s legal team appealed the ruling, with Trump criticizing the decision as disgraceful. He insisted that Carroll fabricated the allegations for financial, political, and personal reasons.
