Donald Trump: We Received Good News from Russia, and Ukraine is Waiting

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that Washington held productive talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that he received what he described as very good news from Russia.

Trump expressed his desire for Russia to agree to a deal with the United States, indicating that he believes this will actually happen.

Speaking to reporters, the U.S. president said he had received extremely good news from Russia, explaining that he had heard promising statements from Russian officials.

Trump confirmed that he had spoken with President Vladimir Putin, and that Washington had been in contact with several Russian figures. He noted that Ukraine is awaiting the outcome of these discussions.

He stressed that Russia’s military position is very strong, and on the other hand, a number of Ukrainian soldiers are under Russian control, which strengthens Moscow’s position. He explained that he had asked Russia to ensure the safety of these soldiers to prevent further complications.

He added, “I am very concerned about the situation on the ground in Ukraine,” explaining that there are many Ukrainian soldiers at risk, as they are completely surrounded by Russian forces. He described this as a bad situation, emphasizing that Washington does not want them to be killed.

For his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to Trump’s request to protect the Ukrainian soldiers trapped in Kursk, stating that these soldiers had committed numerous crimes against the local population.

Putin explained that the only way to meet Trump’s request was for the Ukrainian military leadership to order its soldiers to lay down their weapons and surrender.
