Egypt-Saudi Dialogue: Formation of Coordinating Council, Cairo Denies Tensions
The Egyptian government denied recent reports suggesting tensions in its relationship with Saudi Arabia. Mohamed El-Homsany, spokesperson for the Egyptian Cabinet, clarified that the visit of the Saudi Shura Council Speaker to Cairo and his meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly are part of regular reciprocal visits between the two sides.

El-Homsany emphasized that the relations with Riyadh are strong at both official and popular levels, a point also underscored by Madbouly during his meeting with the Saudi delegation. He added that the visit was not a response to circulating rumors but rather part of a natural, ongoing cooperation process between the two countries.

El-Homsany also pointed to the agreement between both parties to establish a Supreme Joint Coordinating Council aimed at enhancing coordination and bilateral integration mechanisms across various fields. He highlighted continuous communication between Cairo and Riyadh at all levels, reflecting the strength of the strategic partnership between the two nations.
