Election of a country to fill Russia’s vacant seat in human rights

The United Nations General Assembly held elections for members to fill Russia’s vacant seat on the Human Rights Council.
The election of the Czech Republic to fill the seat of Russia was settled after its suspension from the Council.
The United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission announced earlier today that the United Nations had “credible information” that Ukrainian forces had tortured Russian prisoners.
