End of Consultations for Forming a New Syrian Government: A Technocratic Cabinet Led by Ahmad Al-Sharaa

Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported, citing its sources, that Syria’s interim president, Ahmad Al-Sharaa, has completed consultations to form a second transitional government under his leadership.
According to the sources, the new government will consist of 22 ministerial portfolios, with most ministers being newly appointed based on their expertise and technocratic qualifications. The channel stated that professional experience was the primary criterion for selecting ministers, regardless of ethnicity or religion.
The new transitional government is expected to replace the administration of Mohammad Al-Bashir, who led what was known as the Salvation Government in Idlib. Al-Bashir had taken over from Mohammad Ghazi Al-Jalali, the last prime minister under the previous regime.
