Erdogan threatens to expel ambassadors of 10 Western countries at the same time

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened to expel the ambassadors of ten countries, including France, Germany and the United States, after a call for the release of Turkish opposition figure Osman Kavala.

According to Turkish media, Erdogan told his foreign ministry that “we cannot allow ourselves to receive them in our country.”

In a statement issued Monday evening, ten Western countries called for a “fair and quick settlement of the case” of Osman Kavala, a Turkish businessman and activist who has been imprisoned for four years.
