Food fears caused by Ukraine’s war

The WFP spokeswoman warned that many countries dependent on Ukrainian wheat would suffer significant losses, stressing that grains would be piled into silos without Ukraine being able to export them.
The spokeswoman for the World Food Programme (WFP) noted that there had been a sharp rise in commodity prices due to the war in Ukraine, revealing that the FAO index had recorded the highest rise in food prices.
The WFP spokeswoman emphasized that there was no fear of famine in Ukraine, but rather of a movement of refugees and displaced persons.
