Former Captain Syria Coach of Iraqi Club

The management of the Zakho Club in the northern Kurdistan region of Iraq announced the appointment of former Syria captain Faras al-Khatib as the head coach of the football team, succeeding the resigned coach, Abdulwahab Abu al-Hil of Iraq.
Feras al-Khatib, who had previously represented Zakho as a player during the season (2012-2013), was very pleased to be appointed team coach.
After the signing, Khatib said: “I wish I could be grateful for the trust that the club’s management gave me. I consider myself to be one of you and you, and when I was asked to run the club I did not hesitate, and I came to give my best so that the club would succeed and our fans would be happy. “
Khatib’s contract with Zakho extends until the end of the current season. The team is eighth in the Premier League table with 37 points from 28 games, with 10 games remaining until the end of the season, in addition to the team’s presence in the last eight of the Iraq Cup competition.
