Germany and Qatar at odds over gas contracts

Reuters news agency showed a lengthy article detailing the German-Qatari negotiations regarding long-term LNG supplies.
The agency stated: “Germany and Qatar are facing difficulties during negotiations on long-term supplies of LNG due to differences over basic terms, particularly the duration of contracts,” according to one of the sources. In Germany, it is noteworthy that Berlin is competing with other countries to obtain liquefied natural gas from Qatar.
Doha also insists on a clause in its LNG supply contracts that would not allow Germany to redirect gas to other parts of Europe.
Also, according to the source, the provision of LNG supplies from Qatar is “unexpected” in the near future. According to other sources, German gas companies will resume negotiations with Qatar in May
