Twenty-two people were killed, while dozens are still missing, as a result of the massive floods that hit the US state of Tennessee, which was caused by Hurricane “Henry”, which swept the east coast of the United States.
Tennessee witnessed rain described by the local meteorological services as historic, which led to deadly floods, the destruction of many homes and the collapse of roads.
“Twenty people have died in Waverley, Humphreys County,” local police chief Grant Gillespie told a news conference, noting that “an additional body was found in a rural area.”
For his part, US President Joe Biden expressed his “deep condolences,” noting that the government “is ready to provide assistance.”
