Historic landing of the Turkish lira
The Turkish lira fell dramatically on Thursday against the US dollar, affected by the aftermath of the devastating earthquake and presidential election.
The Turkish lira fell to 19 lira against the US dollar, a decline of about 5%.
The devastating earthquake, as well as the approaching presidential election, caused the Turkish lira exchange rate to decline due to the market’s lack of knowledge of the forthcoming strategy, as the Turkish opposition pledges to return to a free economy contrary to Erdogan’s strategy.
