How did the gas storage rate decrease in Europe?

European official data revealed that the gas storage mobilization rate in Europe has fallen to less than 60%.

According to a report issued by Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE), the daily filling rate of underground gas storage facilities in Europe has fallen to less than 60%.

It said that the total volume of gas in European gas storage facilities amounted to approximately 65 billion cubic meters as of 05:00 GMT on March 4, according to (GIE) data, adding that storage facilities were 59.57% full. , a decrease of 0.44% compared to the previous day.

It also noted that the filling rate of gas storage in the European Union is about 20% higher than the average for today over the past five years.

And (GIE) compared it to the 2021-2022 heating season, when the fill rate fell to less than 60% on December 15.

European countries live in fear of a crisis in natural gas supplies, as a result of the sanctions imposed by the United States of America and its European allies on Russian energy supplies, following the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
