How did the Syrian Constitutional Committee talks end?

The UN envoy to Syria, Geir Pedersen, said on Friday that the talks of the Syrian Constitutional Committee in Geneva ended without achieving any consensus on the four constitutional principles.
Geir Pedersen also added at a press conference that today’s meeting was a disappointment.
He continued, “We did not achieve what we wanted to achieve. We lacked a sound understanding of how to push this path forward. This round did not reach any understandings or common ground on any of the issues.”
Pedersen stated that the date for the next round has not been agreed upon.
On Monday, the sixth round of meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee was launched in the Swiss city of Geneva, with the participation of the parties to the Syrian crisis and under the auspices of the United Nations.
The UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, is supervising the meetings.
Geir Pedersen had said before the start of the sixth round that “it was agreed, during a meeting between the Syrian parties, to start the process of drafting the constitutional reform in Syria, this week.”
Pedersen also indicated previously, that there is an understanding to set 4 constitutional principles for discussion this week, and consultations are continuing on these principles.
