Huge losses to global tourism

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, expected large losses for the global tourism sector by the end of this year, estimated at four trillion dollars, against the background of the spread of the Corona epidemic.
On World Tourism Day, Guterres stressed that global tourism is still suffering from the consequences of the epidemic, noting that in the first five months of this year, the number of international tourist arrivals decreased by 95 percent in parts of the world.
He pointed out that forecasts suggest a loss of more than $4 trillion in global GDP by the end of 2021.
He considered that this would constitute a major shock to advanced economies, while it was considered an emergency for developing economies.
