Indian economic openness towards Damascus, reconstruction and trade exchange

The Indian ambassador in Damascus revealed future plans and economic openness towards Syria, pointing to the interest of Indian companies to contribute to the country’s reconstruction.

 In a press interview, the Indian ambassador indicated that an Indian company visited Syria recently and held talks with the Syrian side in order to buy Syrian phosphate and exchange it for goods that Syria needs, expressing his hope that there will be an agreement soon between the two sides as a result of these talks.

 He described the bilateral relations between India and Syria as friendly and very good, as it is historical and extends to include all fields, including cultural and economic ones, pointing out that there is a permanent understanding between the two parties in international forums on regional and international issues.
