Inspectors in Tehran for uranium

Tensions continue over what the International Atomic Energy Agency discovered last week, that Iran had obtained enriched uranium up to 84%.

The organization announced that UN inspectors are currently holding talks in Tehran, according to Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency.

And the agency quoted Muhammad Eslami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, on Wednesday, as saying that inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency of the United Nations are in Tehran to conduct negotiations and audits.

He also made it clear that confusions caused by one of the inspectors are now being removed, according to his claim.

These developments came after the IAEA confirmed that its inspectors had discovered last week that Iran had obtained enriched uranium up to 84%.

The international monitoring mission revealed that Iran has enriched uranium to levels just below that required to produce a nuclear weapon.

International inspectors need to determine whether Iran intentionally produced this uranium enriched to 84% purity, or whether it was the result of unintentional accumulation inside centrifuges, which Iran denies completely.

It is also noteworthy that this is the second time this month that observers discover suspicious activities related to enrichment in Iranian nuclear facilities.
