Iranian Foreign Minister Reveals Parts of Trump’s Message and Iran’s Response

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated earlier today, Thursday, that the letter sent by former U.S. President Donald Trump to the Iranian leadership contained threats, but also opportunities at the same time.
Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s response to Trump would take into account all aspects of the letter, including both the threats and the potential for a settlement. He reaffirmed Iran’s refusal to negotiate directly under pressure and sanctions, stressing that negotiations should take place under equal conditions.
He also noted that Iran will respond to Trump’s message in the coming days through appropriate channels and reiterated that Iranian policy is based on safeguarding national interests. He further emphasized that the “maximum pressure” policy is nothing new for Iran.
