Iranian President Criticizes Trump: Talks Peace While Threatening Iran—Which Should We Believe?

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian affirmed on Saturday that Tehran will continue nuclear negotiations with the United States, but will not yield to threats.

In a pointed critique of U.S. President Donald Trump, Pezeshkian said, “He speaks of peace while simultaneously threatening Iran—so which should we believe?”

Delivering a speech marking the anniversary of the return of the Iranian Navy’s 86th fleet from an international maritime mission, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran seeks dialogue without pursuing war. “We are not afraid of threats,” he declared. “We will not retreat from our rights under pressure, nor will we relinquish our honorable achievements in any field.”

Referring to past attacks targeting Iranian scientists, the president stated, “They assassinate our scientists and then accuse us of ‘terrorism.’ We are the victims of terrorism. Because we refuse to bow to arrogance, they portray us as a source of regional instability.”

On the situation in the Gaza Strip, Pezeshkian condemned Israel, asserting that over 60,000 people have been killed and that access to water, food, and medicine is being denied. “And yet they speak of human dignity,” he added.
