Iranian Statements Warn Washington Against Repeating Past Mistakes

Iranian Statements: Any U.S. Provocation Will Be Met with Targeting American Interests

Ali Alaei Boroujerdi, a member of Iran’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, warned the U.S. president against “attempting to repeat past mistakes” against Tehran. He stated that any new provocation would face an Iranian response targeting American interests in the region, according to reports by the Fars News Agency.

Boroujerdi described recent statements by the U.S. president, calling for support of opposition groups inside Iran, as a “miscalculation” that reflects a lack of understanding of the Islamic Republic’s nature and its ability to respond. He cited incidents including the downing of U.S. drones and precise missile strikes on military bases as examples of Iran’s capabilities.

He added that Iran is facing a “harsh economic war” from the United States due to sanctions, but emphasized that any new threats would not go unanswered. Boroujerdi stressed that Tehran is not easily threatened, and any repetition of past mistakes would be met with “more severe” responses.

Domestically, shop owners in Tehran closed their stores in protest of worsening economic conditions caused by sanctions and the rapid depreciation of the national currency. The ILNA news agency reported demonstrations in several markets across the capital, where protesters demanded immediate government intervention and the establishment of a clear economic strategy.
