Israeli Army Conducts New Military Drill in the Syrian Golan

The Israeli army announced on Thursday that it is conducting military drills in the Syrian Golan. According to the newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth,” the drill involved heavy movement of vehicles and security personnel, with explosions heard in the area. A spokesperson for the Israeli army stated that there is no security threat.
Israeli attacks on Syria have escalated in recent weeks, with Israeli aircraft targeting several sites, coinciding with ground incursions into the countryside of Dara’a and Quneitra.
The Israeli army had taken control of the demilitarized zone in Quneitra after the fall of the previous Syrian regime and later expanded its control to the summit of Mount Sheikh. Its airstrikes have targeted hundreds of Syrian military sites with the aim of destroying the infrastructure of the Syrian army.
The Israeli army clarifies that it will continue its presence in the demilitarized zone as a security measure in response to potential threats from the Syrian side.
