Israeli Interior Ministry Announces Transfer of Hundreds of Palestinians from Gaza to Germany
The Israeli Interior Ministry issued a statement announcing that hundreds of residents from the Gaza Strip were transferred from Ramon Airport in southern Negev to the German city of Leipzig on Tuesday. The transfer was conducted under the supervision of German diplomats.
According to the statement, Interior Minister Moshe Arbel visited the airport to assess the voluntary departure process of Gaza residents to a third country.
It is worth noting that the Israeli Cabinet recently approved the establishment of a new body tasked with promoting the “voluntary departure” of Palestinians from Gaza. The Defense Ministry clarified that this new entity would coordinate “land, sea, and air transit” to countries willing to receive them.
Trump’s Plan to Displace Palestinians
These developments align with former U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to relocate Gaza’s devastated population and rebuild the enclave after U.S. control, transforming it into a destination with resorts, hotels, restaurants, and modern buildings, making it the “Riviera of the Middle East,” as he described.
Trump’s plan faced outright rejection from Palestinians, who viewed it as forced displacement from their homeland. Human rights experts have also warned that such actions could violate international law.
